Community Outreach & Charity Initiatives
At Tarr Eye & Vision Center, we believe it is important to give back to the community and world in which we live and work. Because of this, we are involved in a number of local outreach and charity initiatives. We actively support Mossy Creek Fellowship at Carson-Newman University, Volunteers For Christ at the University of Tennessee, and the Life Outreach Center in Jefferson City. We also participate in the Lion's Club eyeglasses recycling program. We have been regularly involved in supplying eye exams and glasses to Jefferson County's needy and uninsured children through the Sight For Students program.
The number one reason in the world for loss of sight is not having the means to get a pair of glasses. Dr. Tarr has led and been a part of humanitarian trips to Mexico and Belize to donate eye glasses, provide eye exams, and treat eye disease. He is also proud to be a part of the Remote Area Medical Volunteer Corps which helps students and adults in the local area without the means to benefit from an eye exam and glasses.
